About Starsand Island

Starsand Island is developed and published by Seed Sparkle Lab, a Chinese studio. The game entered Early Access in February 2026 and reached its full version 1.0 release on August 18, 2026, launching digitally on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day. The standard price on Steam is $39.99. Physical editions for PS5 and Switch 2 are scheduled for November 12, 2026.

The official pitch is simple: "Tired of the city grind? Escape to Starsand Island and embrace the simple joys of country life." In practice that means farming and ranching, fishing, crafting, building and decorating a countryside villa, cruising the coastline by skateboard, scooter, or boat, and forming bonds with the islanders โ€” including finding "that special someone to share your island life with." The game supports four languages โ€” Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese โ€” all with full voice acting, plus single-player and online multiplayer for up to four players, Steam achievements, and full controller support.

On Steam the game currently sits at Very Positive, with roughly 84% of about 3,200 user reviews positive (checked August 25, 2026). Latest Updates

Version 1.0 (August 18, 2026) brought the game out of Early Access with online multiplayer for up to four players and an expanded dating system, followed by a first post-launch patch (v1.08.3916) on August 20. The developers have also announced a crossover with Pathea Games' My Time at Portia, adding two characters from that game โ€” the release date for the crossover content is still to be confirmed (TBC).
